Splice

In 2023, the second development focused on improving the interactive technology created in the pilot and developing a short dance work entitled Splice.

Delving further into the themes of choices and autonomy, in Splice, we explore the idea of the multiverse of infinite possibilities, only one of which we bring into existence through the choices we make, creating our reality. An individual’s narrative is embodied in the collective as we explore the influence we have on each other.

In 2024, Splice was presented as a full-length work in a model of dance and discussion designed to build networks to navigate life's choices.

Splice presented at Victoria Hall on 18-20 July 2024, is a new model of dance and discussion designed to connect.

Considering how choices create our reality, and how our lives intertwine within the fabric of the universe, the work features live musician, Abbey Felton, alongside dancers, Estelle Brown, Izzy Leclezio and Sarah Kinch.

After a 30-minute performance, a discussion panel opens the floor to further conversations as speakers, artists and audience grab a drink and mingle.
