Azariah Felton
Composer
Azariah Felton is a composer and sound designer whose work ranges from instrumental concert pieces to sound art and installations, and includes collaborations with dance, film, and theatre. He draws from wide-ranging influences: popular styles including metal, jazz, and ambient music, and ‘art’ styles such as postminimalism and electroacoustic music. His works have been performed at La Biennale di Venezia Danza, the Montpellier Dance Festival, the Kuala Lumpur International Composers’ Series, and in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. He has collaborated with groups including Ensemble Offspring, LINK Dance Company, Brooke Leeder and Dancers, and Annette Carmichael projects, and is a member of the Moving Forward Collective. Azariah graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and the California Institute of the Arts, and is a Fulbright scholar. He grew up all over Western Australia, from Denmark to the Kimberley, and remains a country kid at heart. Azariah lives and works in Boorloo (Perth), on Whadjuk Nyoongar Boodja.
