HEARTBEAT:XO

Inspired by HeartBeat:mb, an improvised performance drawing from the amplified sound of Baryshnikov’s heartbeat as he moved, I became more aware of my own biological rhythm and how it influenced my experience of the apparent speed of the music, and rhythm of the dance. heartbeat:xo (2019), created in collaboration with Perth-based musician Azariah Felton, explores how biological rhythms influence acoustic and kinetic space to viscerally reveal who we are as individuals.
